‘Drops of Storm’ is the track I especially took notice of (my personal favorite), with the use of some beautiful dissonance complimented by some rhythmic leads that often give way to resolution, making for overt oscillation. In the midst of the maelstrom ‘Kingdomless’ provides us with what seems like an anchor point, if you can visually imagining shapeshifting, alien-like tides amassing and dancing around you… with some great leads that pull things back into an almost trance like territory (picture, if you will, an even more psychedelic version of Urfaust) that makes the track feel incredibly large in stature when combined with those aforementioned towering compositions. This track has a huge melting effect on the listener with a subtle present, complimented by the sense of the majestic (there are some build-ups in this track that are also worth taking note of). It is also a fitting follow up to ‘The Missing Stars’ as this track has a “rip current” affect on the listener… it drags you further out into the world of Derhead with the following ‘The Death Of You’ now being the ensuing futile struggle, incidentally.
